How to report infringement and submit a takedown or counter-notice.

MapNinja curates game locations and develops interactive maps. We respect intellectual property and expect our users to do the same. If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, this page explains how to notify us. We respond to valid notices and act promptly.

Filing a takedown notice

Send a written notice to our copyright agent at dmca@mapninja.io including all of the following, as required by the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (such as the URL) for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact details - name, address, telephone and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.

What happens next

On receiving a valid notice we will remove or disable access to the material and make a reasonable effort to notify the affected user. Incomplete notices may delay our response.

Counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@mapninja.io containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material and its location before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court and to accept service of process from the complaining party.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances we will disable or terminate access for users who are repeat infringers.

Complaints outside the United States

We also honour intellectual-property complaints under other applicable laws. If the DMCA framework does not fit your situation, contact dmca@mapninja.io with the relevant details and we’ll act on valid requests.
